Whatever your list of the things British that you miss when you are away from the UK, British television need not be one of them.

With the Cleaford Slingbox service, you can now receive any of the British Freeview channels (including the main BBC and ITV channels) anywhere in the world.

At Cleaford Services we sell you the Slingbox equipment that makes it possible for anyone with a laptop or desktop PC, and a broadband internet connection, to receive those channels and view in real UK time. Some users who are living permanently outside the UK have then chosen to link their computer to their TV. We will also host a hard drive DVR, controlled via your Slingbox, whereby you can record programmes for viewing at a convenient time.

At any time, you can either devote your laptop screen to the TV programmes, or you can have a docked TV programme running in a corner of the screen while you carry on with work on the main window. This is useful for keeping track of live BBC News 24 coverage while doing other things.

You do not have to wait until you travel - you can set up Slingbox service on the laptop you will be taking with you Depending on the level of demand for new accounts, there may be a delay before we can start your subscription, so don’t leave it till the last minute if you know there is something coming up (e.g. Wimbledon, Test Matches, competition finals, Six Nations Rugby, etc.) that you will want to watch even though you will be away from home.
